Registry

Jason and I are now registered at both Bed Bath & Beyond and Target!

(The links should take you straight to the registries)

If anyone needs to created a registry soon, both are great locations. Bed Bath & Beyond has some pretty neat incentives. If you register for so much money worth of certain brands, that company will send you a free gift! Then, if you complete so much  money worth of your registry for a brand, the company sends you another item!

They also have an awesome referral program. Be sure to mention Courtney Wagner or Jason Baguley if you do register at Bed Bath & Beyond. They give us a gift card for every registry referred by us ;) How cool is that!?!

Today was another long, busy day. After meeting with Dani Photography, we all had several errands to run. After taking care of a few other things, Jason and I made our way to Bed Bath & Beyond to create our registry there. We started with the kitchen at Target, but not this time around! We spent probably just as much time in the kitchen as we did in every other department combined, if not more. We started at the other side of the store and worked our way to the kitchen, making it pretty well through dining. We will need to go back online to edit and add (mostly in the kitchen) over the next couple days.

There really isn't a good way to get it all done at once! It is a lot of fun and exciting in the beginning! However, by the end of a couple hours or so...it's definitely time to get out of the store for some fresh air. It's exhausting to go through an entire store and all its options.

Wedding Photography

Mom, Jason, and I met with and booked our wedding photographer out at her new studio this morning; she's still moving in, but the place looks great already!  We went over a rough schedule and got a better feel for the flow of our big day.

I was somewhat nervous at first; I wasn't quite sure what to expect. However, once we sat down and started talking, that all disappeared. Dani Photography is the perfect fit for us! I am so excited!! Dani was so fun to work with this morning. I am sure it will be a blast to have her present on our wedding day.  She is absolutely wonderful - her photography is beautiful, she is very professional and so easy-going, and she has tons of fabulous ideas and suggestions!

She hasn't taken any photos for us yet, but I already highly recommend Dani Photography to anyone looking for a great photographer!

Check out her website here or click her name above for her Facebook page :)

We are still waiting to see the results of our Engagement photo shoot with Reva. We should have those any day now, though. I can hardly wait to see them!

Start each day with a smile.

1. It is a miracle to even wake up each morning.
2. I am so very loved.

On Friday, December 9th, I had my two major finals for Fall term. Back to back. Beginning at 8 AM. A two hour block scheduled for each exam. No big deal, right? Maybe if you ignore the fact that these were Physics and Advanced Anatomy & Physiology finals...

I was rather overwhelmed by everything going on during the week, and everything I was planning and scheduling for the upcoming weeks.

As I was grabbing what I needed before walking out the door, I found this lovely note on the board I have been working through physics problems on =)

It completely made my day as I left the house confidently. And nothing helps confidence quite like a smile.

Jason is so good to me. He always does something sweet for me when I'm in for a big day - especially when I have an exam I have been stressing about. He has even woken up early on his day off to come make breakfast on more than one occasion.

Building a Home

We are now registered at Target!!!

Jason met me after work and we made it a date. We stopped at Del Taco for a quick dinner so we wouldn't be hungry.

When you create a registry, they give you a packet. This packet includes coupons, a checklist, a catalog, and a giftcard to Shutterfly. I think I have five Shutterfly cards at this point. I got several from David's Bridal when I was dress shopping, as well. It's pretty much awesome!

Anyway, we started out with the kitchen...I think we will start with smaller rooms on our other registries. There are a lot of little pieces to a kitchen!

From what I hear, most people really get a kick out of scanning everything. I was excited to scan the first few things, but not for the sake of scanning. It was really exciting to begin piecing together the little details of what will become our home with Jason. As for the scanning itself...well, we've both used similar technology at work so much. It's pretty much just...whatever.

I think we've almost covered our bases with the kitchen...there's a few odds and ends missing, but we'll edit the registry, of course, over the next couple weeks.

We are really excited about a dinnerware set we found!! I've had a really hard time choosing colors for our kitchen, but I think we've settled on something we will both be content with for quite awhile.

The blue, green, and gray in this set is perfect! This gives us a few different color options to mix and match. It's really versatile. We can go neutral or throw in a splash of color where we want. We both like the colors and have liked them for a long time. They are very warm and comforting, rather than overbearing, , in-your-face color. I don't imagine I'll be absolutely sick of them next time I turn around.

From the kitchen, we moved on to the bathroom. I'm really excited about this as well. I love red as an accent color, but I've decided I don't want the currently popular black, white, with a bright and bold red mix. For anything. It seems very high strung and bold...It stresses me out. I want deeper, richer colors. Then, on the other hand, I was starting to think our whole house was going to be blue...and that's a problem as well. Anyway, I think we came to an agreement on a deep scarlet and bronze:

We headed home at this point. The registry still needs some work, but this was a huge step in the right direction. Stuff is getting done and that is a good thing. I've got three weeks to have everything pretty well set.

Drum Roll Please...

....

And we have a photographer!!!

Well, photographers to be exact.

Photography is been one of my biggest priorities. Pictures are what will best preserve the memories of this grand occasion - aside from the life we will share together proceeding the ceremonies, of course. I highly cherish the pictures I have from my life thus far and enjoy looking back on them and reminiscing. I want the pictures of my wedding day to fully capture the day. I want wonderful pictures, and I feel we have found the photographer for the job.

Reva will be doing our engagement pictures a week from Thursday. I am STOKED!!

Dani Mouser will be our official photographer on the wedding day. She will be with us all day - from the moment I begin hair & makeup to the end of the reception. I am so glad I won't be restricted to a four or six hour time limit with additional charges for extra hours.

So I say all this planning hasn't been stressful...It's just school stressing me out. Well, to be honest, if any part of the planning has been stressful - it's photography. No photographer = no engagement photos = no announcements/invitations = well, you get the point...

As a side note, while looking at various photographers, I came across this image:

This is SO happening ;)

We also decided we are going to make announcements/invitations ourselves. It just makes sense. There is not much else to say about that.

As for centerpieces...that's another story. We [had] a pretty good idea as to what those are going to look like. But, we may very well be changing the whole feel with one very BIG word: BLACK. Whether we go black or not will, from here, determine what direction we go with decorations. I have very mixed emotions about this...

Long story short: We have found our photographers. I am STOKED!! And planning may now continue.

Wedding Venue: Check

We have selected and locked in our wedding venue! Where might this grand experience be occurring you ask? Well, we have two beautiful locations...

The Portland Temple
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

This is where we will be wed for time and all eternity. The marriage ceremony and sealing will take place in this beautiful house of the Lord. I can hardly wait to stand hand in hand with my sweetheart in the Celestial Room.

The Salem Kroc Center
Built and operated by The Salvation Army

(The windows on the right side of the right image are where we will be.)

Their goal is to provide reasonably priced facilities so that everyone may have the opportunity to experience that million dollar wedding of their dreams. They have a beautiful meeting and banquet room wherein we will hold our ring ceremony and reception. They provide tables, chairs, linen, and technology. They also assist in the set up, clean up, and they cater!

I'm so excited we found such a perfect venue! I look forward to sharing this special day with all of you!

It Just Gets Better

Marshmallows. Croutons. Cheese.

Talent. Technique. Skill.

Love.

Don't forget love.

It just gets better with time.

I would also like to add this married student housing deal seems more and more perfect each day. I would like to add another couple to the list of known neighbors should we get an apartment here - Roseanna & Jonathan!

This lovely couple is such a wonderful blessing in my life. I have (at last) found an awesome study/tutoring group! I met Roseanna in September. She is in my Weight Training class. Jonathan is in my physics and A&P courses. He was also in my bio sequence last year. He and I are on the same level - perfect for studying. And then Roseanna...well, Roseanna is just amazing. She helps us get out of those sticky situations when we just aren't sure which way to turn with our physics homework.

I have spent many hours in their apartment the last couple days. Some of that time was spent visiting, while much time was spent studying and working on physics. So far - I love it! The apartments and company more so than the physics, of course. But the physics might not be quite so bad now.

I definitely see myself living in one of these apartments with Jason for the next 1 1/2 years about. Everything about it just seems good and feels so right. I don't know that we could find somewhere to beat it. Of course, however, whatever is available will win out. I submitted our application Monday and now I am definitely praying there will still be apartments available when the wedding bells ring.

Home Sweet Home

"The strength of a nation derives from the integrity of the home. " -Confucius

Jason and I have begun the hunt for a place to call home. We spent a few hours looking for apartments yesterday, trying to get a feel for pricing, location, size, parking, and what utilities are included. We found a few really good possibilities - assuming there are openings come March or April.

We are primarily looking in the area surrounding campus. This will put us close to school and church - and hopefully a new job for me and various internships. It will add only 10 minutes to Jason's commute to and from work and cut mine by, well, it should cut my commute down all together. Ideally, I'll be able to walk just about anywhere I need to go on a regular basis. Hmm...that might open up an hour or two in my schedule! It will certainly be nice to be so close to school. Study groups will be significantly easier. As will be crazy class schedules.

We are also finding most places to be cheaper out there with decent interiors as many have undergone some degree of remodeling, including newer carpet/paint, appliances, doors, etc. Cheaper rent & less gas overall? Sounds like a good plan to me!

But it gets better...Our favorite place so far is married student housing: Two bed, one bath, kitchen with appliances, dining area, living room with a fireplace, laundry facilities, utilities, internet, and cable all inclusive for $615 a month. Not bad at all! Not to mention we already know we would have some awesome neighbors! (Von & Maggie and Josh & Callie)

There is usually a waiting list, but there are a couple openings now. We have our application all filled out and ready to submit to get on the list for Spring!

From My Sweetie

I believe it was on Thursday - I was just sitting at home studying and working on various assignments when my doorbell rang. These were on the other side...

Jason sent me these gorgeous flowers!! Awesome vase, frog prince, and all. He is such a sweetheart! I absolutely love him <3

My mom comes from a Prince family and I am happy to announce I have found my prince! This little frog prince just happens to be guarding a sweet message.

& His kisses are the sweetest!

My mom came home and the words we exchanged went a little something like this:

Mom: "Ooo! Pretty flowers! Whose are these?"
Me: "Mine" with a huge grin
Mom: "Awh, you have a sweetie. You know, your dad did stuff like that all the time for me."

Extra Note: We are  planning to incorporate these colors on our lovely wedding day ;)

Have a wonderful day :)
